The Queen Deluxe 10″ Mattress consists of 3″ of memory foam and a 7″ polyurethane base foam. The density of the top layer is 5.3 pounds, which is the highest class of density. The dual air flow feature encourages air flow throughout the mattress to prevent heat absorption. The mattress is covered with a 4-way 100% cotton zipper with a velour feel. It’s backed by a 20 year warranty.
The Good
5.3 lb density. The ideal range of density is between 4-6 lbs. Density refers to how much cubic foot of memory foam weighs. While this alone doesn’t tell us how much quality it has, it does indicate greater durability and feel compared to lower densities.
Durability. This goes along with density. Typically, the higher the density the longer the lifespan of the mattress. Specifically, it will maintain its level of support longer.
Pain relief. Memory foam is more likely to relieve pain in the hips, back, and shoulders. This is especially the case for high density models. This is likely a result of memory foam being temperature sensitive, thereby reducing pressure points. The high density provides better support also.
Price. I question how a mattress with 5.3 pounds of density could be priced under $400. The reason is because higher density mattresses have more materials stuffed inside, which naturally makes them more expensive. But at the end of the day, it’s pretty good value even it’s not quite what it says it is.
Dual air flow. It seems that more and more mattresses have this feature. This allows air to circulate more freely throughout the mattress, which makes it cooler to sleep on. Mattresses without this feature will trap heat from the body, making it a lot more hot to sleep on.
3″ of memory foam. This amount is enough to provide good cushion and contour to your body. Too much foam could result in sinking down too much, and not enough wouldn’t be comfortable.
Warranty. A 20 year warranty is the standard, however some only offer 10. Dynasty offers 20 years on all their mattresses.
The Bad
Firmness. The Queen Deluxe has an ILD rating of 20, which means that it would take 20 pounds to make a 1″ indentation in the mattress. Most foam mattresses are rated in the 12-15 range. This will affect tall, light weight individuals more so because they won’t sink down far enough. One solution to buy a topper to add more cushion.
The mattress I received is like sleeping on concrete.

Zip cover. A few customers complained that the cotton zip cover sheds and pilled quite a bit.
Chemical smell. High density mattresses, for one reason or another, tend to smell worse than others. Just about every memory foam mattress has a strong chemical smell at least in the beginning. It affects some more than others, but you will have to endure it for a few days or longer. This customer review sums up what most people will experience:
There was a very strong headache-inducing chemical smell when we first unwrapped the mattress, but we walked on it a couple of nights before bed, and that helped it dissipate. It lingered for about a week where you could smell it in the room, and about a month where you could smell it if you stuck your head under the covers or put your face against the mattress.

The Queen Deluxe 10″ Memory Foam Mattress has several benefits. First, it has 5+ lb density that gives it that special feel. It also should last for quite awhile and may provide pain relief for those who need it. The 3″ of thickness is adequate, and the price is very affordable. The only real concern its level of firmness, I believe it will be too hard for some. If it is, then buying a topper will help.
